you are like SNOW, it's cold and cruel to begin with, but it's somehow BEAUTIFUL, and you miss it when it's not there. and if you hold it in your hands close enough and long enough, it CHANGES, it melts.
“THERE’S SOMETHING TO be said about a film being a guilty pleasure, you know,” he said, not particularly torn up that Darcy hadn’t enjoyed the mostly-mindless apocalypse. “Beside, I wouldn’t expect someone like YOU to get it.” The bait. THE BAIT. He was most adept at the bait. Kol tossed a piece of the popcorn –– what he had been told was REQUISITE movie fare, though he couldn’t have cared less for it –– toward her, pushing himself forward to grab the remote control, ending the scene (the fifth gratuitously-bloody scene in a row, which even he could admit was teetering toward the excessive) with a flicker on the screen. He’d amassed a considerable number of films as a point of study. The movies had helped the already-quick Kol surround himself in the popular culture of the day with an ease he hadn’t had in centuries past. He’d DOWNLOADED the twentieth century, and had taken the time from his work to do the same for the SHELTERED WITCH FROM ACROSS THE SEA. He pulled a disk from its case, sliding it in. “This is a bit more sedate,” he said. “Something to take your mind off your devil spawn and infirm BALL AND CHAIN you’ve dragged to New Orleans.” He flashed an over-bright smile at her, covering the ticking moment of confusion. Were they? FRIENDS, that was. The last friend he’d made had been an awful CON. “I don’t usually do movie days with my enemies,” he said, settling back down next to the popcorn bowl. “Tell your husband he’s free to swing by, though I’m a bit of a wanker.” He flashed his teeth once more, not entirely sure himself if he was joking with her, or warning her. BIT OF BOTH, maybe.
❛ someone like me? what do you mean by that? that someone like me doesn’t understand how AWFUL this movie is? ❜ she asked him, a playful smile on her lips as she let out a light chuckle, but managed to laugh more as he threw the piece of popcorn at her. never would she had imagined she would be THIS happy when she had been in hogwarts. her life was good, & for once, she had a friend, & one that would teach her all the muggle stuff. ❛ i suppose you are right, & i do hope that this movie is a lot better than the last once that we watched. ❜ she rolled her eyes, but froze slightly at his next sentence, letting out a slight breath. ❛ well–––– you are going to have to be the one to swing by, seeing as though he is on bed rest until he is healthy again. i should warn you that, although he is still as witty has he has always been, is much weaker than he would be if he was healthy. i’ll have him shower & possibly be downstairs when you do come, but just to warn you; the house is also rather messy. ❜ those were the downsides in darcy’s life, her dying husband & the fact that she never learnt how to properly clean anything. ❛ but, enough of that, do you think that you can teach him how to use the computer? i just bought one the other day & there was this spinning spiral thing, i thought that it was broken, so i haven’t touched it since. ❜ she shook her head gently, reaching over as she took a bite of the popcorn. ❛ oh! before i forget, you should one day come meet my son too! he is turning twelve soon, & i told him that you knew magic, so he is really excited to one day meet you. ❜
